Why Lattafa took over the UK fragrance scene

A decade ago, an Arabian perfume house barely registered on a British shopping list. Lattafa changed that, and it did not change it quietly.

The Dubai brand cracked the one problem every fragrance shopper has. It made scents that smell expensive, last most of a working day, and cost less than a week of supermarket lunches. Khamrah went viral on TikTok. Yara built a wall of Amazon reviews thousands deep. The rest of the range followed them in.

So now you have a different problem. Range. Lattafa Perfumes puts out new bottles faster than anyone can reasonably track, and the names give almost nothing away about what is inside.

This is the shortlist. Ten Lattafa perfumes, ranked, each one earning its place for a clear and stated reason, and every one of them sitting on our shelves right now.

How this top 10 was ranked

A sentence on method, because a ranking without one is just an opinion in a nice jumper.

The order here reflects what genuinely sells and genuinely performs. Three things carry the most weight: how many people actually reach for a bottle, how long it lasts on skin, and whether the scent punches well above what it costs. Viral reach counts for something, but a TikTok trend does not carry a fragrance on its own.

Where a Lattafa scent openly trails a designer or niche original, I have named it. Where it stands on its own feet, I have said that instead. You can cross-check most of the note breakdowns on Fragrantica's Lattafa pages if you want a second opinion.

Traditional Arabian oud

1. Lattafa Khamrah

There is a reason this one takes the top slot, and it is not just the TikTok numbers.

Lattafa Khamrah is the bottle that turned the brand into a household name in UK fragrance circles. The hype landed in 2022 and, unusually, it was deserved. The scent is a spiced, boozy gourmand. Cinnamon and nutmeg open it, dates and praline thicken the middle, and it dries down across hours into vanilla, tonka and benzoin, warm and faintly rum-soaked. Anyone who has smelled Kilian's Angels' Share will recognise the territory at once, and Angels' Share costs roughly ten times more.

Longevity is the easy part. Ten hours is normal, more on a scarf left out overnight.

It leans cold-weather, though plenty of people ignore that and wear it through July anyway. At £21.99, Lattafa Khamrah is the obvious starting point, and for most people the only one they will ever really need.

2. Lattafa Yara

If Khamrah built the brand's name with men, Lattafa Yara did it with everyone else.

Yara is the brand's biggest female bestseller by a distance, the sort of fragrance that collects Amazon reviews in the thousands and then keeps collecting them. It is creamy, fruity and sweet, orchid and heliotrope folded into a soft vanilla base, and it reads as comforting rather than loud. Refreshingly, it is not a clone of anything. Yara is a Lattafa original and it smells like one.

Performance is solid rather than monstrous. Six to eight hours on skin, noticeably longer on clothing, which suits a scent built to be an everyday signature instead of a statement.

Perfumeo stocks the headline pink edition. Lattafa Yara is £17.99, which for a fragrance this widely loved is close to a giveaway.

3. Lattafa Asad

Rank three goes to the brand's most reached-for masculine.

Lattafa Asad is bold, spicy and fruity-smoky, built squarely for impact. Blackcurrant and pineapple crack it open, a smoky birch and patchouli heart follows, and it settles onto musk, oakmoss and a thread of vanilla. Structurally it sits in Creed Aventus territory, the smoky-pineapple blueprint that designer houses have been chasing for a decade. Shoppers also cross-shop it against the pricier designer masculines, Dior Sauvage Elixir among them, and Asad holds its own in that company for a sliver of the outlay.

Expect around nine hours of wear with confident projection through the first few.

It is an interview scent. A date scent. A be-remembered scent. Asad by Lattafa is £17.99, and very few masculine fragrances at any price do this much work for the money.

4. Lattafa Badee Al Oud

For the oud lovers, rank four, and a proper one.

Lattafa Badee Al Oud is the line British buyers reach for when they want a serious smoky oud without niche-house pricing. It is one of the biggest-selling Arabian ouds in the UK, and it earns that on character rather than marketing spend. The scent is dark and resinous, smoky agarwood wrapped in saffron, rose and amber, the kind of composition that fills a room and then lingers in a coat for days afterwards. It sits in the same niche-style smoky-oud lane as Initio's Oud for Greatness, again at a tiny fraction of the cost.

This is not a gentle office fragrance, and it has no interest in being one.

It is a cold-night, special-occasion, turn-heads scent. The Badee Al Oud family runs across several editions at Perfumeo, all around £19.99, and Lattafa Badee Al Oud rewards anyone who likes their oud genuinely smoky.

5. Lattafa Khamrah Qahwa

Number five is the flanker that grew up fast.

Lattafa Khamrah Qahwa took the original Khamrah and pointed it at a coffee cup. Qahwa is Arabic for coffee, and that is exactly what arrives: a creamy, sweet, gently bitter coffee note laid over the spiced-vanilla bones of the original. It launched as a quieter sibling and has since become one of Lattafa's fastest-growing sellers, partly because it quietly fixes Khamrah's one flaw. Where the original can feel heavy, Qahwa feels cosy. Easier to wear to a desk, a dinner, a slow Sunday.

Longevity holds up well, eight to ten hours, with a softer trail than its parent.

At £23.99, Lattafa Khamrah Qahwa costs a couple of pounds more than the original. For coffee-gourmand fans, that is money well spent.

6. Lattafa Qaed Al Fursan

Rank six is the value champion, and it is not close.

Pound for pound, Lattafa Qaed Al Fursan might be the strongest performer on this entire list. It is a bright, juicy pineapple-and-woods scent, fresh and fruity up top, warm and slightly ambery underneath, the sort of thing that pulls unsolicited compliments out of strangers. Nothing about it is challenging or polarising, and the performance genuinely surprises people who paid this little for a bottle.

Perfumeo carries the original in a 50ml travel size at just £6.99.

That makes it almost an impulse buy, and an easy way to test the Qaed Al Fursan line before committing to the larger Untamed or Unlimited flankers. Lattafa Qaed Al Fursan is the bottle to hand anyone who still insists good fragrance has to be expensive.

7. Lattafa Fakhar Black

Seventh place goes to the office all-rounder.

Lattafa Fakhar Black is the brand's answer to the fresh, clean, aromatic masculines that dominate designer counters. Anyone familiar with YSL's Y will find the DNA familiar straight away: a crisp, slightly fruity opening, an aromatic sage-and-geranium heart, a clean ambery-woody base. It is comfortably the safest scent on this list, and that is meant as a compliment.

Fakhar Black is what you wear when you would rather not think about it. Work. A meeting. Anywhere a fragrance should be noticed but never questioned.

Projection is moderate, longevity a reliable eight hours or so, versatile rather than dramatic. Lattafa Fakhar Black is £17.99, and it quietly replaces a designer bottle three times the price.

8. Lattafa Eclaire

Number eight is for the sweet tooth, and it does not apologise for it.

Lattafa Eclaire is a full dessert gourmand. Caramel and vanilla do most of the talking, soft and creamy and edible in the way the name promises, with just enough warmth underneath to stop it tipping into sickly. It has become one of Amazon's fastest-growing gourmand scents for women, and the appeal is not hard to understand. It is pure comfort in a bottle.

This one is seasonal. Eclaire shines through autumn and winter and can feel rich in summer heat.

Longevity is generous, easily carrying from a morning spray into the evening. Lattafa Eclaire is £21.79, and for anyone who loves a sweet, cosy signature it is genuinely hard to beat.

9. Lattafa Ana Abiyedh Rouge

Rank nine is the viral one, and for once the algorithm has decent taste.

Lattafa Ana Abiyedh Rouge is the bottle TikTok keeps pushing in front of people. It is an affordable take on the Baccarat Rouge 540 effect, that sweet, ambery, faintly burnt-sugar glow that turned the Maison Francis Kurkdjian original into a cult object. Ana Abiyedh Rouge gets you a good way down that road. Saffron and jasmine over a warm amberwood base, sweet without turning cloying, with a sillage that announces itself politely rather than shouting.

It is unisex, it works year-round, and at this price trying it is almost a reflex.

Lattafa Ana Abiyedh Rouge costs £13.89. That is roughly a twentieth of the fragrance it nods to, which is the whole point of it.

10. Lattafa Ameer Al Oudh Intense Oud

Closing the list at ten, a winter specialist with a quietly devoted following.

Lattafa Ameer Al Oudh Intense Oud is the connoisseur's pick here. It is a smoky, woody, vanilla-laced oud, saffron and rose threaded through a dark agarwood base, rich without ever tipping into harsh. The fans are loyal, slightly obsessive, and they keep rebuying it, which tells you most of what you need to know.

It is unapologetically a cold-weather fragrance. On a winter evening it is gorgeous. In August it would be a mistake.

Performance is exactly what the word Intense promises, nine hours and well beyond, with a trail that follows you across a room. At £14.99, Lattafa Ameer Al Oudh Intense Oud is the cheapest serious oud most people will ever own.

How to spot a fake Lattafa

Popular brands attract counterfeits, and Lattafa is now popular enough to attract a great many. A few quick checks save you from a wasted £15 and a bottle of something that smells like nothing by lunchtime.

Look at the print first. Genuine Lattafa packaging is sharp and properly aligned, the cap is weighted and clicks home cleanly, and the glass is free of bubbles or rough seams. Fakes cut corners in exactly those places.

Check the batch code. Every real bottle carries one, stamped on both the box and the base, and the two should match. A missing or mismatched code is the clearest warning sign there is.

Then there is price. Lattafa is cheap, but it is not free, and a "Khamrah" listed at £6 is not Khamrah.

Buying from a verified Arabian fragrance specialist takes the guesswork away entirely. Every bottle Perfumeo sells ships under an authenticity guarantee, and if you want the longer view on storing fragrance and reading batch codes properly, our does perfume go off guide covers it in detail.

Where to start

Ten bottles, one ranked list, and honestly no wrong answer among them.

If you want the single safest pick, Khamrah sits at rank one for a reason. If budget leads the decision, Qaed Al Fursan at under seven pounds is almost unfair on the competition. Oud devotees already have Badee Al Oud and Ameer Al Oudh waiting for the first cold evening.

The wider point is simpler than any single bottle. Lattafa has made genuinely good fragrance affordable, and a collection that would once have cost four figures now costs roughly the price of one designer bottle. Browse the full Lattafa range and build yours one scent at a time.

FAQs

What is the best Lattafa perfume?

Lattafa Khamrah is the best all-round pick, a spiced vanilla gourmand that went viral for good reason. For women, Yara leads the range. For value, Qaed Al Fursan at under £7 is hard to argue with. The right one depends on whether you want sweet, fresh or oud.

Which Lattafa perfume lasts the longest?

The heavier orientals last longest. Khamrah, Asad and Ameer Al Oudh Intense Oud all comfortably clear nine to ten hours on skin, and longer on clothing. Lighter scents like Fakhar Black sit around eight hours. As a rule, the sweeter and oudier the Lattafa, the longer it stays.

What is Lattafa Khamrah a dupe of?

Khamrah is widely considered an affordable take on Kilian's Angels' Share, sharing its boozy, spiced, vanilla-and-cinnamon character. It is not an exact copy, but the resemblance is close, and Khamrah costs roughly a tenth of the price.

Are Lattafa perfumes good quality?

Yes, for the price they are genuinely good. Lattafa uses respectable concentrations of fragrance oil, which is why longevity is strong, and the compositions are well blended rather than cheap-smelling. They are not niche-house luxury, but they were never priced to be.
